Bursaries

The Bursary Fund is about remaining true to the Benedictine spirit of inclusion and opportunity and every year we offer a range of bursaries.  Our aim is to be able to offer more bursaries to students regardless of their background and we can only do so through the generosity of our current and former parents and Old Amplefordians.

Ampleforth has always had strong bursary support and the transformative impact of this programme is far reaching. Within the College it strengthens our student body. Amplefordians are known for their kindness and a distinct lack of sense of privilege, a great deal of this is owed to the diversity of the students who attend the College.

Now, our need for your support is greater than ever as we endeavour to build this programme, in line with our Vision. One in five students currently receive much needed means tested financial support, but for every bursary we can offer we have to turn away three families, and this demand is set to grow.

Some supporters are able to be extremely generous, but also through small regular monthly gifts, boosted in the UK by Gift Aid, every one of our friends can transform lives of Ampleforth students, and all the people they encounter during their lives, now and into the future.

You can make a one-off donation to the Bursary Fund using the form below. Thank you.

“I don't know who provided the funding for my bursary and I'm sure I never will but there isn't a day where I'm not grateful for the kindness someone once showed me and many others. Regardless of the size or scale of that financial contribution at the time, a bursary donation has a lasting impact, which can be felt much further down the line.”
