Year 7 Free Instrumental Tuition

The Music Department is delighted to announce that as part of our broad and inclusive curriculum, all Year 7 students will receive free tuition on one of the following instruments for one term beginning in September: 
  • Violin 
  • Viola 
  • Double Bass 
  • Bassoon or Oboe 
  • French Horn 
  • Trombone 

This exciting opportunity will allow students to try something new and receive guidance from some of the finest musicians in the country. At the end of the Autumn term students who show potential and commitment may be offered a Development Scholarship allowing the student to continue their lesson free of charge for the remainder of the academic year. 

The instrument will be provided free of charge whilst the pupil is having lessons. There will be approximately ten lesson in the term, each for 35 minutes. Instrumental tuition will be during the school day. Disruptions to academic lessons will be kept to an absolute minimum and will likely be timetabled in the afternoon prep sessions.
