Driver - Casual

Founded in 1802 and set in 2,200 acres of beautiful Yorkshire valley, Ampleforth College is the world’s foremost Catholic boarding school, welcoming girls and boys of all faiths aged 11-18. Each student’s unique talents are recognised and nurtured within a welcoming community rooted in Benedictine values.

A proactive and motivated on-call driver is needed by the Transport, Logistics and Security Department to collect and deliver students as and when necessary, as well as provide support with the delivery of goods and the cleaning of vehicles on a daily basis.

Whenever Trust vehicles are used, drivers are required to conduct safety and maintenance checks, report any maintenance or repair requirements to the Transport, Logistics and Security Manager, clean the minibus as needed, and ensure the vehicle is parked and stored securely.

Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to work constructively as part of a team, be able to relate well to both children and adults, and have previous minibus driving experience.

It is essential that you possess a valid, clean driver's licence with no more than three endorsement points. It must have been held for at least three years, be licenced for a minibus and have D1 entitlement. A MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) qualification is desirable.
