School Transport Driver
Located in a beautiful Yorkshire valley, Ampleforth College is the world’s foremost Catholic boarding school, welcoming girls and boys of all faiths aged 11-18. We offer a holistic education and nurture each student’s unique talents.
A proactive and motivated on-call driver is needed by the Transport, Logistics and Security Department to collect and deliver students as and when necessary, as well as provide support with the delivery of goods and the cleaning of vehicles on a daily basis.
Whenever Trust vehicles are used, drivers are required to conduct safety and maintenance checks, report any maintenance or repair requirements to the Transport, Logistics and Security Manager, clean the minibus as needed, and ensure the vehicle is parked and stored securely.
Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to work constructively as part of a team, be able to relate well to both children and adults, and have previous minibus driving experience.
It is essential that you possess a valid, clean driving licence with no more than three endorsement points. It must have been held for at least three years, be licenced for a minibus and have D1 entitlement. A MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) qualification is desirable.
The hours required for this role are from 22 to 30 per week, comprising the following shifts: 6:30am to 8:30am and 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Further opportunities within the department may be available if you have a SIA qualification or are prepared to undertake the relevant training.
