Student Hardship Fund
Thank you for your generosity and willingness to support the Ampleforth College Hardship Fund, offering a lifeline to bursary recipient families impacted by the Government’s introduction of VAT on Independent School Fees.
One in four pupils at Ampleforth College is in receipt of a Bursary Award; a powerful gift ensuring that children willing to offer their talents to our school community and develop through the transformational experience of our unique Catholic, co-educational, full-boarding school, can take up their place, even when family circumstances mean it would not otherwise be possible. Bursaries transform lives and whole families. This has been the case at Ampleforth for generations, thanks to those who have supported them in the past. You are now offering this much needed support to the children flourishing in school today. Thank you.
The average additional bursary needed for each child this year is £1,000 a term, or £2,000 for the Spring and Summer Term together. It is possible to make a one-off gift to support a student’s full needs this year, or for a term, a month or a week. With the power of Gift Aid in the UK, you can give in a tax-efficient manner to maximise the impact of your support. You also have the option to make a regular monthly gift, for any of these amounts, which will support the immediate need and may make the gift more manageable for your finances. This gift will continue month by month into the future, supporting children for years to come.
Once again, we thank you for giving. If you would like to make a larger gift than the need for one child for two terms, or wish to make a gift from the USA, then please speak to Emma Craig, Head of Development, who will offer you additional support and information (emma.craig@ampleforth.org.uk).
