Sixth Form Taster Lessons & Stay - Friday 6 & Saturday 7 March 2026
On Saturday 7 we will be offering students who are looking to join us in Year 12 in September 2026 the opportunity to take part in three taster A level or BTEC lessons. Each lesson will be 30 minutes long and will provide students with a chance to experience the courses which they are considering studying. Parents are welcome to join us for the taster lessons should they wish.
In addition, we are also offering students the opportunity to join us on Friday 6 March for an overnight taster stay where they will have the opportunity to meet some of their future peers.
The schedule for Friday 6 and Saturday 7 March is as follows. Please note that times are subject to change.
Friday 6 March:
Parents to drop their son/daughter off at the boarding House at 5pm if taking part in the taster stay. Visiting pupils will then have supper with the House, followed by time in the House to meet future peers. Later, there will be a year group social event at The Windmill.
Saturday 7 March:
Those taking part in the taster stay will have breakfast in Houses, followed by a team-building activity in the morning (optional for students not taking part in the taster day).
Parents and pupils who are not taking part in the taster stay are invited to arrive at 10.15am and stay for tea, coffee and refreshments, and a welcome from our Headmaster. The taster lessons will then begin for pupils on a carousel basis, after which there will be lunch, followed by pick up at 1.30pm.
If your son/daughter would like to take part in the taster lessons and taster stay, please email admissions@ampleforth.org.uk. Details about our A level and BTEC courses can be found here.
